14 | Bobsleds, the Olympics, and a Bold Yes
The Olympics have a way of stirring something in us — the anticipation, the discipline, the glory, the behind-the-scenes stories we rarely see.
And this week, they took me back 20 years.
Back to a season when I worked with Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton. Back to being 20 years old, wildly underqualified, fresh out of a small farm town… and somehow standing in the middle of a World Cup event.
Oh — and saying yes to riding in a bobsled at 90 km/hr.
In this episode, I’m sharing the story:
-
How I landed a job in Olympic sport with more willingness than experience
-
What it was like working behind the scenes during a World Cup
-
The night Vancouver won the Olympic bid (and why I still get chills)
-
The moment I climbed into a four-person bobsled and screamed my way down the track
-
And what that bold yes taught me about risk, courage, and trusting God when I wasn’t the one steering
This isn’t just a nostalgia episode.
It’s about saying yes before you feel ready.
It’s about being placed in rooms you didn’t earn.
It’s about realizing that sometimes faith looks like holding on and trusting the Pilot.
If you’ve ever felt underqualified, stretched, or unsure of the next turn in your life — this one’s for you.
Let’s talk bobsleds, boldness, and the kind of yes that turns into a testimony.
