The Olympics have a way of stirring something in us — the anticipation, the discipline, the glory, the behind-the-scenes stories we rarely see.
And this week, they took me back 20 years.
Back to a season when I worked with Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton. Back to being 20 years old, wildly underqualified, fresh out of a small farm town… and somehow standing in the middle of a World Cup event.
Oh — and saying yes to riding in a bobsled at 90 km/hr.
In this episode, I’m sharing the story:
How I landed a job in Olympic sport with more willingness than experience
What it was like working behind the scenes during a World Cup
The night Vancouver won the Olympic bid (and why I still get chills)
The moment I climbed into a four-person bobsled and screamed my way down the track
And what that bold yes taught me about risk, courage, and trusting God when I wasn’t the one steering
This isn’t just a nostalgia episode.
It’s about saying yes before you feel ready. It’s about being placed in rooms you didn’t earn. It’s about realizing that sometimes faith looks like holding on and trusting the Pilot.
If you’ve ever felt underqualified, stretched, or unsure of the next turn in your life — this one’s for you.
Let’s talk bobsleds, boldness, and the kind of yes that turns into a testimony.

This week I’m sharing a story about responsibility, community, and letting go — what started as my 9-year-old mowing our lawn turned into lessons about raising capable kids, trusting God with our full plates, and building connection right where we live.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re holding all the weight at home or in business, this one’s for you. You’ll walk away encouraged to let others (and your kids!) step in, while you focus on what matters most.
Welcome & Why This Story Matters(00:00) — Setting the stage for the episode and why this story is meaningful.
Unexpected Independence(01:22) — Your daughter’s initiative and your honest reaction.
Building Responsibility, One Task at a Time(03:05) — How you fostered safe, confidence-building steps.
Letting Them Lead(05:10) — Observing your child’s growth and learning to step back.
Community, Connection, and Growth(07:32) — How these moments tie into bigger life lessons and community.

Ever feel like you're failing at business because you can't stick to the systems that work for everyone else? The planners. The time blocking. The "just focus harder" advice. Here's the truth: Your ADHD brain isn't broken. The system is. In this episode, I'm breaking down why traditional business advice fails ADHD entrepreneurs — and what actually works instead. 🎧 YOU'LL LEARN: ✨ Why your busy brain is like a race car trying to drive like a minivan (and why that's actually your superpower) ✨ The shame cycle that keeps ADHD entrepreneurs stuck — and how to break free ✨ The 3 faith-based business systems that actually work for neurodivergent brains:
• Capture systems that honour how your brain processes information • Decision frameworks that reduce overwhelm • Accountability structures built for consistency (not perfection) ✨ How to turn distractibility from a flaw into your competitive advantage ✨ Why Jesus was the ultimate rebel against broken systems (and what that means for your business) This isn't another "fix yourself" episode. This is about building systems that fit YOUR brain — not forcing your brain to fit someone else's system. --- 🎁 FREE RESOURCE: Grab your Finish One Thing Today toolkit at erinvogt.com/finish.A simple 5-day system to help you build focus and finally get a win on the board.
